Praxis Research Inc., an independent research company, completed
a study of HighReach Learning Curriculum using data and classes from Georgia
Pre-K based on Georgia Kindergarten Awareness Profile-Revised (GKAP-R).
HighReach Learning Pre-K curricula have been approved by GA-PreK since 1996.
The results of this study support the effectiveness of HighReach
Learning as an effective curriculum for early childhood instruction
and also indicates that it is differentially effective for children
at risk. The research also notes that HighReach Learning is based
on the "priming mechanisms" introduced by the Research
of Craig and Sharon Ramey, noted early childhood researchers.

Curriculum Builds School Readiness Skills!
Over the past fourteen years our customers have
been saying this. Now it has been confirmed by a comprehensive research
study conducted by Sinclair Consulting Corporation. Data was compiled
and analyzed by Dr. James Ray Ross of the Fairfax County Public
Schools in Virginia and Dr. Thomas L. Shortt of the University of
Virginia.
Sinclair Consulting Corporation completed a comprehensive
research study involving 354 students, at 16 different sites that
were located in 7 states. Of the 16 sites, 14 used the HighReach
curriculum. Two of these 14 sites used the HighReach curriculum
in some of their classes and not in others. Two sites did not use
HighReach, although they did use other planned curriculum. Student
performance was measured on two different, highly reliable assessments,
the Developmental Indicators for the Assessment of Learning (DIAL-III),
and the Early Development Scale of the Woodcock-Johnson Tests of
Achievement.
The results are impressive!

Test Scores Have Risen at
Bamberg School District 1!
Does high quality
preschool curriculum help children succeed in elementary school?
Administrators at Bamberg School District 1 in Bamberg, SC believe
so. The school district began using the HighReach Learning curriculum
with their preschoolers in 1996. At that time, their first graders
scored 87% on the Cognitive Skills Assessment Battery (CSAB), which
is used to measure student readiness to begin the first grade curriculum
in South Carolina. After using HighReach Learning curriculum as
part of their program to prepare preschoolers for first grade, test
scores began to rise. By 1999, test scores for first grade students
in the district had soared to 96.9%, which is well above the state
average of 83.9%!
